Julie originates from NSW where she worked in various roles covering a number of jurisdictions. Her extensive experience includes such roles as implementing change in Children’s Court, being involved in the drafting of various legislations, presentation of papers at National Conferences as well as Magistrates Conferences.

Julie was also instrumental in assisting the various Court jurisdictions to be more child friendly and focused. An integral part of this was the implementation and subsequent delivery of programs throughout metropolitan and regional NSW.

Julie is also trained in forensic interviewing and has led various teams of experts in the implementation and delivery of the “Forensic Interviewing of Children” model. In 2007, Julie relocated to Western Australia where she has been employed in private practice before opening her own firm, Gray & Co Lawyers.

She has represented people in difficult legal matters in the Full Court of the Family Court of Australia, Children’s Court of NSW, Local Court of NSW, District Court of WA, Family Court of WA, Magistrates Court of WA, Children’s Court of WA.

Julie is an experienced Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL) and has extensive experience in working in Western Australia in the following areas of law:

Julie is a member of the Law Society, Family Law Section and the ICL network, Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Western Australia and the FLS Regional Liaison Group.

When not at work, Julie loves the outdoor lifestyle, travel and exploring new adventures. Julie rarely sits still and is an active member of the community.

Zoe Hasleby


Zoe is a local, originating from the farming community of Binnu.

Zoe comes to Gray & Co with extensive legal experience. After obtaining a Bachelor of Criminology at Murdoch University in 2007, Zoe commenced her legal career as a paralegal in 2007. Shortly after, she commenced her law degree with the University of New England. Zoe graduated in 2012 and was admitted as lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2013.

Simone Avard


Simone Avard

Simone gained her law degree from Murdoch University and studied at the WA College of Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from Curtin University.

Simone gained valuable experience working with Scales in Rockingham, a Community Legal Centre which provides a wide range of legal services to the community. She also has experience in Commercial Law, and working with various levels of Government.

Simone joined Gray & Co in July 2022 and currently focuses on:

  • Will and Trusts
  • Family and Child matters
  • Property Law

Simone is always smiling and already a much valued member of the Gray & Co team, and highly respected by her clients.

Sharna Dalla Valle


Sharna joined our firm as Office Manager in early 2021 after working in a diverse range of industries right across Australia. In mid-2022, Sharna moved into a remote role focusing on Account Management whilst finishing her law degree.

In late 2023, Sharna completed her studies and was admitted as a Lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, and was employed as a valued team member and Solicitor at Gray & Co in February 2024.

Sharna continues to work with our team to deliver flawless service to our clients from the moment they walk in the door and throughout their time with our firm. She is focused on minimising the stress and worry that legal action inevitably brings, by securing the most efficient and equitable outcome for her clients.

Sharna moved to Geraldton in 2014 and is raising a young family, spending her spare time renovating and enjoying Geraldton’s stunning beaches and relaxed lifestyle.

Danielle Wedge

Office Manager

Danielle is a Geraldton “local” of some 20 years having relocated here in 2004 after spending most of her life working and living in a cross section of towns around the state. A short stint living on the east coast saw her return to Geraldton in 2020.

In 2023 Danielle joined our firm as Office Manager after extensive experience within the Department of Justice and more recently gaining valuable knowledge in the day-to-day operations of a legal firm as Office Manager.

Danielle loves spending time with her family and enjoying the lifestyle Geraldton has to offer. Her spare time is spent on home improvements and craft projects

Gemma is a valued team member who prides herself on her customer service and organisational skills.

Gemma is the first point of contact for our organisation and administration, and is an integral part of our firm.

Nothing is ever too much for her and you will always be welcomed with a smile. In her spare time Gemma is a busy mum and has a passion for cooking.
